The Plot of Badrinath Ki Dulhania
The film revolves around Badrinath "Badri" Bansal (Varun Dhawan), the youngest son of a wealthy family in Jhansi. He falls in love with Vaidehi Trivedi (Alia Bhatt), a beautiful and educated girl from Kota, at a wedding. He proposes to her with his father's approval, but she rejects him because she wants to pursue her career as a flight attendant. She also has a bitter past with a boy who cheated her and ran away with her money.
Badri becomes obsessed with Vaidehi and tries to convince her to marry him. He even kidnaps her on her sister's wedding day and threatens to kill himself if she does not agree. However, Vaidehi escapes from his clutches and flees to Mumbai, where she gets a job as an air hostess. Badri follows her there and tries to win her back, but she rebuffs him again. He then learns that she is going to Singapore for training and decides to go there as well.
In Singapore, Badri meets Vaidehi's friend and colleague Kritika, who helps him get closer to Vaidehi. He also befriends Somdev, a police officer who is smitten by Kritika.
